Roper Hospital has broken ground for their new hospital in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. The hospital will be building a 90,000 sqft., 21 million dollar medical office building as well as a 218,000 sqft. $143 million dollar hospital in the Carolina Park development adjacent to Wando High School. The medical office building is scheduled to open in May 2009 and the hospital in November of 2010. East Cooper Regional Medical Center is current building a new facility on 55 acres next to it's existing hospital.

The New Roper Hospital Is Scheduled To Open In November 2010
Roper St. Francis Healthcare is proud to announce plans for a new, state-of-the-art hospital. A new Mount Pleasant hospital will meet the growing healthcare needs of people living and working East of the Cooper while providing them a choice with the proven, quality care Lowcountry residents have trusted for over 150 years.
This 200,000 sq. ft. facility will be located on 78 acres of land at the intersection of Highway 17 North and Faison Road in the Carolina Park Development.
The new Roper St. Francis Mount Pleasant Hospital will include:

§ Women’s Services including high tech, comfortable Labor and Delivery Suites
