The Tides Condominiums on Charleston Harbor are located at the foot of the Cooper River Bridge in the town of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Consisting of three buildings, each residence will feature a spectacular view of the water. Residents will have a view of the Charleston skyline, marshes and the new Cooper River Bridge. There will be a total of 152 residences on the 80 acre site, with each six story builing having secured parking. The first two buildings under construction have been sold out with some units available in the final stage and some resales of units under contract but not completed. As of April, 2007 available residences were priced in the $1,015,000 to $3,395,000 range and were between 2023 sqft. and 3775 sqft., with two to four bedroom configurations. The penthouses will have private roof top terraces of up to 1800 sqft. All of the homes will have water views. The first units are anticipated to be completed in the Fall of 2007.
The Tides Condominiums are located at the base of the Cooper River Bridge and beside a planned waterfront park. There will be a trail connected to the new Cooper River Bridge bike lane. The Tides Condos are located 2 miles from the
Charleston Harbor Marina, 2.1 miles from the Old Village of Mt. Pleasant, 4.4 miles from the Charleston City Market and 5.6 miles to Sullivans Island Beach.
Some of the ammenities of The Tides include a fully-equipped fitness center with cardiovascular, conditioning and strength equipment, a sauna, steam and massage room, whirlpool and juice bar. The club room will have a library and media room with high speed internet access. A pool similar to those found at newer Caribbean resorts with an integrated hot tub and sloping beach entry will be seperated from a man made beach and shade deck. There is a planned pet park and boardwalk connections to a day dock and marsh island. A trailway will connect the Tides Condominiums to the planned Mt. Pleasant $4,000,000 waterfront park, which may include a 1250 foot fishing pier.Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina, Patriots Point Golf Course and sports complex are nearby.
Each of the buildings will have a finely appointed lobby with a two story atrium, kitchen, mailboxes and rest rooms. Four elevators will serve each building. Extensive soundproofing has been incorporated into each building. Impact glass consisting of three layers of glass melded into a membrane one inch in thickness eliminates the necessity of hurricane shutters. All residences are spacious and open with both the master suite and kitchen/living spaces overlooking the Cooper River. 10 foot ceilings are standard. Residents will be able to choose from a variety of different floor plans and custom interior "upfit" packages.
There are four four star Golf Digest "Places To Play" courses within 15 miles of The Tides. Recently, Charleston was named a top ten city by Conde Nast Travelor, National Geographic Traveler and Travel and Leisure Magazine.

An Update On The Mt. Pleasant Waterfront Park

The Town of Mt. Pleasant waterfront park opened on Memorial Day week-end of 2009. The first phase started in February, 2009. This first phase included the area's longest pier of 1250 feet.. An 8 foot tall war memorial, a sweetgrass pavilion, visitors center and a playground will also be built. An artificial reef at the end of the pier attracts fish. Consideration is being given to running a sailing program from a floating dock near the end of the pier. However, because of the strong ebb tide at that location, safety issues need to be taken into consideration in deciding whether to proceed with this idea.
